About the role
The Structural Engineer will assist in the development of Structural Designs in support of various Water Business Line projects. The primary focus will be on structural support for water and wastewater treatment plants.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed drawings and specifications for water and wastewater treatment process basins, chemical facilities, administration buildings, site retaining walls, and other structures.
- Prepare design calculations and coordinate with other support disciplines.
- Coordinate with regional offices and regulatory agencies.
- Conduct construction cost estimating and quality assurance and control.
- Assist the Group Leader in scheduling, budget monitoring, and quality control.
- Assist in project reporting, including design status updates, project accounting, and progress reports.
- Prepare and execute Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans.
- Participate in internal and external project workshops.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- 1+ years of technical experience in structural design engineering.
- Basic understanding of structural engineering design in concrete, masonry, and structural steel.
- EIT certification or ability to obtain a PE registration within 24 months.
Preferred Skills
- Master’s Degree in civil or structural engineering.
- Registration as a Structural Engineer (SE).
- Working knowledge of Revit CAD programs.
- Experience with structural complexities associated with water and wastewater treatment equipment.
- Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Active participation in local professional trade organizations.
