Pride Resource Partners, LLC, a Think Power Solutions Company, is seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Design Manager for A/E Services.

Responsibilities

  • Performs moderately complex structural engineering work, including preparation, analysis, and review of design plans, specifications, estimates, and reports to comply with federal, state, and local agency guidelines.
  • Performs contract administration by reviewing structural services required of engineering consultants and architects, making appropriate revisions and recommendations.
  • Prepares structural design plans and specifications, quality assurance plans, conceptual and detailed cost estimates, and other reports for the construction, maintenance, and operation of concrete, structural steel, timber, masonry, metal, and related structures.
  • Assists in reviewing project status, initiating changes, and providing advice to structural designers and other engineering staff.
  • Reviews structural plans, specifications, design and mathematical calculations for structural engineering projects, and creates cost and expenditure requirements for alternate construction methods.
  • Reviews completed structural work for conformance to recognized standards, feasibility of construction, completeness, and accuracy.
  • Assists in designing and laying out foundation, floor, wall, and roof framing plans for major building structures.
  • Makes recommendations to contractors, architects, engineers, and construction inspectors on structural issues during construction.
  • Analyzes environmental impact reports, negative declarations, and soils test data to make recommendations for foundation design.
  • Prepares feasibility reports and preliminary designs for proposed structures and facilities under construction.
  • Performs site investigations and prepares scoping reports and recommendations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of full-time paid professional structural engineering experience; emphasis on school building construction is preferred.
  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in structural engineering or civil engineering with a specialization in structural engineering courses.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) recognized by the State of California Board of Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • May require travel.
  • May require working more than 40 hours per week.
  • May be required to lift, carry, push, pull, or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequently required to move to access office equipment.
  • Operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a copy machine.
