About the role
This position provides intermediate technical knowledge and performs engineering tasks to support the Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects. Responsibilities include evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques to deliver quality services and promote Fluor’s competitiveness in the global marketplace. The role involves developing cost-effective solutions, reviewing specifications, participating in procurement and subcontracting activities, and solving problems of moderate engineering complexity.
Responsibilities
- Support the Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects and apply standard engineering techniques to moderately difficult assignments.
- Employ cost-competitive engineering techniques to develop the most cost-effective total project solution.
- Develop and review specifications, including design criteria.
- Participate in equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities.
- Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve problems of moderate engineering complexity.
- Review vendor equipment documentation for compliance with project requirements and seek discrepancy resolution.
- Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Accredited four-year degree or global equivalent in an engineering field of study and three years of work-related experience.
- Recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional qualifications.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
- Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the role.
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
- Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability, and cost of materials.
- Practical field experience.
- Intermediate computer and software skills, including word processing, email, spreadsheets, and electronic presentations.
- Advanced experience with hand calculations and analysis.
- Advanced experience with RISA 3-D software.
- Understanding of building codes.
- Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.
Qualifications
- Preferred candidate will have an active Professional Engineer license.

Pay
Salary range: $74,000.00 - $138,000.00. The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; final salary is determined by candidate qualifications, relevant experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions.
