About the role

This position provides intermediate technical knowledge and performs engineering tasks to support the Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects. Responsibilities include promoting Fluor’s competitiveness by delivering quality services, evaluating and selecting standard engineering techniques, and developing cost-effective solutions. The role involves equipment and material procurement, permitting, subcontracting, calculations, equipment specification, and problem-solving of moderate complexity.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead in employing cost-competitive engineering techniques to develop project solutions.
• Develop and review specifications, including design criteria.
• Participate in equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities.
• Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve problems of moderate engineering complexity.
• Review vendor equipment documentation for compliance with project requirements and resolve discrepancies.
• Analyze and recommend solutions to problems with varying complexity in alignment with project objectives.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Accredited four-year degree or global equivalent in an engineering field of study and three years of work-related experience.
• Professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required by local regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
• Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete tasks.
• Ability to learn and apply local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
• Attention to detail and time-effective work habits.
• Professional registration and advanced knowledge of discipline codes, standards, and material costs.
• Practical field experience and intermediate computer skills (word processing, email, spreadsheets, presentation software).
• Advanced experience with hand calculations and analysis.
• Advanced experience with RISA 3-D software.
• Understanding of building codes.
• Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.

Qualifications

Preferred candidate will have an active Professional Engineer license.

Pay

Salary range: $74,000.00 – $138,000.00. The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range, with variations based on candidate qualifications, experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions.
