About the role

We are seeking a Structural Project Manager with experience in bridge and transportation projects. The ideal candidate will also have experience in bridge inspection, load ratings, and asset management-related services. This role will serve as a key leader in our Kansas/Missouri Division and contribute to initiatives that drive the overall growth of our practice.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as project manager on bridge and transportation design projects
  • Create and execute project work plans including developing project scope, schedule, and budget estimates
  • Manage project teams, accountable for budget and schedule
  • Mentor junior staff
  • Contribute to Kansas Division strategic growth initiatives
  • Champion relationships with key clients, including KDOT and/or MoDOT
  • Represent Benesch at industry and professional engagement events
  • Ability to identify opportunities and lead strategic project pursuits
  • Identify resources needed and effectively delegate staff duties and responsibilities
  • Create and Execute project work plans
  • Serve as the primary interface between the clients and staff for a given project
  • Cook up and review work performed by sub-consultants
  • Promote the team environment and communication and identify and address team conflicts
  • Network, including active participation in and leadership of professional organizations

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Registered Engineer in Kansas and/or Missouri
  • Minimum of 7+ years of bridge design experience including project management responsibility preferred
  • Proven experience on KDOT or MoDOT bridge projects preferred
  • Seller/Doer mentality, client interaction experience a plus
  • A track record of adhering to design budgets and project schedules
  • Excellent communication and client relation skills
  • Strong understanding and familiarity with steel/concrete design software
  • Experience with bridge inspection, including completed NHI training a plus
  • Practice good time management skills, demonstrating the ability to work efficiently within time constraints while dealing with numerous concurrent activities
  • Willingness to travel to project/work sites as necessary

This position offers a hybrid work schedule, with employees working from one of our office locations when feasible. For candidates not located near one of our offices, we are open to considering a fully remote work arrangement.
