Consor is seeking a motivated Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our growing Structural / Bridge Engineering Group in our Draper, Utah office. As a dynamic and expanding engineering consulting firm, we offer exceptional opportunities for professional growth, mentorship, and advancement.

About the role

The selected candidate will work as an integral member of a close-knit team on a wide range of structural and bridge design projects under the guidance of a structural engineer with over two decades of experience in transportation and project delivery. You will design structures of all types, including highway bridges, pedestrian bridges, culverts, walls, overhead sign structures, and miscellaneous drainage structures. Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with a team of other engineers on projects
  • Focus on career building with set achievable goals
  • Perform structural and bridge analysis and engineering calculations
  • Develop structural/bridge plans, specifications, estimates, and supporting documents
  • Conduct conceptual engineering studies
  • Support preliminary engineering and final design efforts
  • Prepare technical reports
  • Coordinate with internal project managers, coworkers, local governments, and UDOT

Requirements

  • 2+ years of civil engineering experience with a focus on bridge design
  • Demonstrated experience with bridge design principles and methodologies
  • Knowledge of concrete and steel design
  • Experience with Bentley Open Roads Designer (ORD) or other versions of MicroStation
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • EIT certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable time frame (pass FE exam)

Work Environment

This hybrid job operates between an office environment and a field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines. May require occasional exposure to work environments that may include inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazards, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.

Physical demands include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling. This job may occasionally require operating a company vehicle, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.

Pay

Salary range: $75,000 – $105,000 (depending on experience). Compensation for candidates with significant experience beyond the minimum requirements may be considered above this range.
