You’ll have the opportunity to work on transportation projects that focus on bridges and other transportation structure designs. You will serve in a technical role and/or task lead on bridge design projects and perform complex structural analysis and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects on local and national projects. We’ll look for your knowledge and experience in analysis as well as the development of design, plan preparation, specifications, and reports. Inspection may be required on occasion.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Relevant previous professional experience in bridge design and inspection, preferably 6-10 years
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in IA or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Solid understanding of standard engineering practices, techniques, and applicable Codes
- Ability to produce design documentation/calculations
- Proficiency in bridge design software, such as LEAP Concrete/Bridge, AASHTOWare BrR, Larsa 4D, MIDAS Civil, and/or MDX
- Working knowledge of CAD systems, specifically Bentley MicroStation, Bentley OpenRoads Designer or Bentley OpenBridge Modeler
- A thorough understanding of and practical experience applying the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications to transportation structures
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Demonstrated experience on various types of bridges, including both concrete and structural steel bridge types
- Experience in both new bridge design as well as inspection, maintenance, and repair
- Experience working on IA DOT projects
- Demonstrated work in IL, MN, MO, and WI
- Active involvement in local engineering societies

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $95,000.00 to $125,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
