Structural Analysis Section Leader

Our Mechanical Engineering (ME) group leads in mechanical hardware design, development, and production of advanced systems, utilizing state-of-the-art tools and processes. The Mechanical Analysis and Test Department (MA&T) ensures the structural integrity of all RMD products, delivering innovative solutions from preliminary concepts to fielded weapon support.

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical leader, helping define/refine and develop MA&T department technical processes and tools.
• Lead analysis/test teams and support staffing requests to ensure programs are appropriately staffed.
• Engage with team members to discuss performance and career development.
• Assist with proposal preparation, including estimating the scope of new engineering projects.
• Perform hand calculations to determine the scope of higher detail analysis models.
• Conduct detailed analysis to solve diverse program structural challenges.
• Perform peer reviews of all analysis to validate process and results.
• Document results according to Raytheon ME standards.
• Deliver results to internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics and 8+ years of experience, OR 12 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• 8 years of structural analysis experience.
• Experience in leadership of engineering teams driving technical and cost performance.
• Experience in structural dynamic analysis using PATRAN/NASTRAN or ANSYS.
• Active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance (DoD Secret level) is required prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in related disciplines (ABET accreditation preferred but not required).
• 10+ years of experience in structural analysis of complex, multi-disciplinary systems (e.g., weapon systems).
• Ability to work onsite at a Raytheon plant, including attending in-person meetings and visiting test laboratories.
• Experience applying mechanical principles to solve classical structural analysis problems, both inside and outside finite element tools.
• Demonstrated experience in structural testing: planning, execution, data reduction, and correlation.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Willingness to travel to government and other facilities in support of program activities.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $107,500 USD - $204,500 USD. The final offer will consider factors such as experience, location, education, and key skills.
