Structural Analysis Engineer 4 - Liaison
About the role
We are seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to perform aircraft structural stress analysis. This role involves evaluating designs to ensure structural integrity and compliance, supporting aircraft development, and working with engineering teams. As a senior engineer, you will be expected to mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.
Responsibilities
- Perform aircraft structural stress analysis.
- Evaluate strength of structural non-conformances and repairs.
- Assess and resolve product and process issues throughout the product lifecycle.
- Analyze dispositions for structural integrity and identify deviations that could impact design intent.
- Provide alternate repair recommendations to meet structural requirements.
- Support in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.
- Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge across the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate of Science degree in Engineering, with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences.
- Experience: 9+ years of related work experience in structural analysis engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the aerospace or aircraft industry is required.
- Background: Experience supporting aircraft structures and systems.
Skills
- Proficiency in aircraft stress analysis.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Able to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated mentorship and coaching ability.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of structures experience with the specific aircraft model.
- 5+ years of experience performing stress analysis on airplane systems or related structures.
- Experience in Model Based Definition, CATIA, ENOVIA, and PDM.
- Familiarity with proprietary analysis tools.
- Experience with composite structures and stress analysis.
- Prior mentoring or leadership responsibilities.
- 3+ years of experience performing classical hand analysis methods.
