About the role

The Stroke Program Coordinator provides professional, clinical nursing, and technical knowledge, skills, and expertise required for the provision and continuity of comprehensive neurological and stroke patient care. The coordinator ensures the assessment, management, implementation, and evaluation of interventions set forth by accrediting agencies for disease-specific program certifications and CMS. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, the organization's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.

Incumbents are required to be knowledgeable of the standards of care for stroke patients and meet the annual educational requirements set forth by the system for certified stroke centers.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, manage, implement, and evaluate interventions for stroke patient care as required by accrediting agencies and CMS.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational standards.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of practice.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Professional specialty nursing certification preferred.
  • 3 years of clinical nursing experience required.
  • Experience in critical care areas (ED, ICU).
