Stroke - Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series
About the role
The University of California, Irvine, Department of Neurology seeks a skilled stroke and vascular neurology specialist to join its growing Comprehensive Stroke Center. The ideal candidate will hold an MD, DO, or MD/PhD, be California Board Certified or eligible for California licensure, and have exceptional training in the inpatient management of complex neurological disorders. Fellowship training in Stroke is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop robust clinical practices
- Participate in clinical trials
- Be involved in education
- Collaborate with the Comprehensive Stroke and Cerebrovascular Center and a multidisciplinary team of subspecialists
Requirements
- Basic qualifications: MD, DO, or MD/PhD, California Board Certified or eligible for California licensure, Vascular Neurology board certified or eligible
Qualifications
- Outstanding training in clinical care of cerebrovascular disease and a strong research background in a related area
- Fellowship training in Stroke preferred
- Teaching fellows, residents, and medical students
- Engage in scholarly activities
- Contribute to both University and community service
Skills
- Strong background or expertise in the fields of intracranial atherosclerosis or cerebral small vessel disease
- Experience working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary neurosciences center
- Experience with international, national, or regional professional societies
- Background in teaching and/or involvement in clinical research or clinical trials
Benefits
Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on availability of support. Membership in the health science compensation plan provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
Pay
Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The salary range is $220,000.00 - $289,940.00, including AAMC salary benchmarks for Neurology.
