Key Responsibilities
- Delivering comprehensive advanced practice care to achieve or maintain optimal health outcomes, manage disease, and reduce risk of illness.
- Exercising independent clinical judgment in the care of individuals, families, and populations across the lifespan.
- Collaborating within a multidisciplinary neuroscience team caring for patients with stroke and other blood-supply-related disorders of the brain and spinal cord, including: Brain aneurysms, Carotid artery disease, Cervical artery dissection, Vascular malformations, and Other complex neurologic conditions.
- P Practicing under the direction of attending physicians at Hartford Hospital.
- Reporting through a matrix structure that may include a Nurse Manager, Nursing Director, and/or Medical Director.
Qualifications
- Completion of an ARC-PA accredited program or completion of an approved Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC) and/or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) program.
- Certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Current PA or APRN license (required for licensure after 1994).
- Board certification in accordance with Connecticut state law.
- Prior specialty experience in neurology or stroke care may be required.
