Striping Technician
About the role
Our Striping Technicians ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic through the installation and maintenance of roadway pavement markings and the documentation of those markings.
Responsibilities
- Install and maintain roadway pavement markings
- Operate a 2 ½ ton paint stripe truck, chase truck, sweeper, or other vehicles and equipment as needed
- Load and unload equipment and materials
- Read maps, plan routes, prioritize assigned tasks, clean, and maintain the paint system
- Interpret and/or draw traffic diagrams and/or sketches of pavement marking layouts
- Interpret and mark roadways for the application of the appropriate roadway markings
- Assess and report roadway and traffic control conditions
- Operate and maintain two-way radio contact with MCDOT Dispatch
Requirements
- One (1) year of experience in traffic control or traffic operations, including installation and maintenance of traffic control devices, or two (2) years of experience in the maintenance, repair, or construction of roads
- High school diploma or GED
- Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire
- Must possess, or have the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire, an American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) Flagging certification
Qualifications
- Must possess, or have the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire, an American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) Flagging certification
- Completion of IMSA level 1 Signs & Markings
- Completion of "ATSSA Flagger" and "ATSSA Traffic Control Technician"
- Class A CDL with tanker endorsement

Pay
Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.
Schedule
This position is eligible for a hybrid and alternative work schedule.
