Position Summary
D1 Training Newport Mesa is seeking a Youth Strength & Conditioning Coach to lead and coach young athletes through structured training programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead group-based strength and conditioning sessions for youth athletes.
- Coach and demonstrate proper movement mechanics, speed, agility, strength, and conditioning techniques.
- Create a positive, motivating, and safe training environment.
- Build relationships with athletes and parents while providing exceptional customer service.
- Ensure athlete safety by maintaining proper coaching ratios and enforcing facility standards.
- Maintain facility cleanliness, equipment organization, and operational standards.
- Participate in community outreach events, camps, clinics, and promotional activities.
- Collaborate with fellow coaches to deliver a consistent D1 Training experience.
Qualifications
- Previous experience coaching youth athletes in strength and conditioning, sports performance, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of athletic development, movement mechanics, and age-appropriate training methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire athletes of varying ages and skill levels.
- CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Nationally recognized certification preferred (CSCS, SCCC, NASM-CPT, USAW, ACSM, ISSA, etc.).
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Performance, or related field preferred but not required.
- Must pass a background check prior to working with athletes.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to demonstrate exercises and movement patterns, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to stand, walk, squat, lift, and coach for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
