About the role

The Consulting Principal role operates independently to guide the Seattle Children's executive team, board of directors, and the workforce to establish and maintain strategic relationships, optimize work structures, and oversee people management. This role provides strategic vision and thought leadership to service lines and complex system-wide functions, assesses, leads and guides project teams through critical strategic initiatives, and ensures alignment with organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes market trends, fosters strategic partnerships, streamlines operational processes, and presents data-informed recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Serves as co-chair, facilitates, and/or leads system-wide committees and leadership retreats.
  • Drives development of AI-enabled solutions to sharpen strategic planning, optimize execution, and accelerate decision-making.
  • Champions the deployment of advanced tech tools to actively upskill our consultants, elevating their analytical capabilities and ensuring the firm remains at the forefront of digital innovation.

Requirements

  • Required Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in health administration, business administration, healthcare, science-related field, or other relevant area.
    • Minimum ten years in consulting, strategic planning, business development, project leadership in healthcare or related industries.
    • Minimum eight years working in complex health care setting in a leadership/management role.
    • Demonstrated successful experience working with executive team, third party providers, governmental agencies, health plans, external vendors, consultants and other purchased services.
    • Experience leading a large project team on complex and/or highly unusual projects (budget, impact or time); full cycle from initiation to project close.
    • Proven track record of project completion through use of methodologies, including project and time management, team development and status reporting.
  • Preferred:
    • Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration or healthcare related field.
    • Twelve years progressively responsible experience in strategic planning, business development or project management.
    • Vast working knowledge and expertise in leading complex change management in an multifaceted organizational setting.
    • General knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, CPI and or Kaizen.
    • Supervision or formal team leadership experience.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills to effectively execute business development and strategic initiatives.
  • Direct oversight of resources assigned to them, actively contributing to team development, performance enhancement, and mentorship throughout the employees' lifecycle.
  • Provides feedback and performance-related data to the resource manager, who maintains overall accountability for consultant performance management.

Pay

$208,017.00 - $312,025.00 per year
