Strategy and Business Development Manage

Position Purpose

The Manager of Strategy and Business Development is responsible for developing and directing the strategic and long-range goals of the Americas including proposals to enter new markets and to expand existing market presence.

Essential Functions

• Collaborates with executives and managers to develop long-range, strategic goals for the organization.
• Takes lead in driving and developing the yearly strategy process for SSA Americas.
• Leads multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously, from idea to project implementation.
• Reports & presents updates to the executive team on a regular basis.
• Manages the analytical and research activities supporting an organization's strategic, short-term, and long-range goal planning function.
• Identifies and reviews market trends; analyzes and applies this information in development of strategies for individual market segments.
• Leads the research of emerging trends, expansion opportunities, competitive threats, and the viability of outside business partners.
• Develops recommendations for internal business process improvement.
• Designs and executes methods to track and measure organizational performance data to use for planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or industry-related field required; MBA or MSc preferred.
• 5+ years of management consulting or corporate development experience preferred.
• Thorough understanding of business administration, management, and business forecasting strategies and techniques.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Schedule & Travel

• Position is full time, exempt.
• Less than 10% of time in the field, at customer's sites, or other SSAB locations.
