Strategic Sourcing Specialist

About the role

As a Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you are responsible for the operational elaboration of Quincy’s purchasing policy in terms of quality, price and delivery performance and achieve the purchasing goals. You will report to the Sourcing Manager.

Responsibilities

• Conduct all purchasing-related activities for assigned categories, including sourcing process, price control, proposal analysis, negotiating improved value, awarding and implementing contracts, managing existing contracts, supplier performance reviews, and resolving invoice issues regarding pricing deviations
• Obtain maximum value for Quincy Compressor in agreements regarding cost, quality, delivery, and service levels
• Prepare, understand, and present spend analysis of assigned categories/suppliers, identifying key drivers, trends, opportunities, and risks
• Provide prompt and accurate purchasing support to internal customers
• Follow up on supplier quality performance (together with the SQA engineer) and delivery performance (together with the logistics engineer)
• Analyze and report on market conditions and trends that may affect price, availability, or quality of purchased products
• Ensure suppliers develop in accordance with quality and logistics demands and pursue win-win outcomes
• Ensure suppliers comply with Quincy business practices

Requirements

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business/Applied Economics, or related field preferred
• At least 3 years of purchasing experience required
• Experience in a production environment preferred
• Experience with commodities (metals, stampings, castings, paint, electronics, wood, etc.) preferred

Skills and abilities

• Profound knowledge and clear communication in English; other languages are a plus
• Excellent knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
• Proven experience sourcing from domestic and international suppliers
• Strong analytical skills
• Highly detail-oriented
