About the role

The Strategic Sourcing Professional 3 develops and executes sourcing strategies, conducts competitive solicitations, performs advanced financial and market analysis, and negotiates contract terms to achieve optimal total value while ensuring compliance with University policy, public procurement requirements, and applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

  • 50% - Strategic Sourcing, Category Management & Financial Analysis
  • 30% - Contract Development, Review & Negotiation
  • 10% - Supplier Performance & Relationship Management
  • 10% - Strategic Partnership, Advisory Support & Organizational Initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, contracting, supply chain, finance, or a related function, including experience leading or independently supporting sourcing initiatives, conducting solicitations, analyzing proposals, and participating in contract negotiations.
  • Advanced Strategic Sourcing Expertise: Thorough knowledge of the strategic sourcing lifecycle, competitive procurement methodologies, and category strategy development.
  • Contracting and Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated ability to review, draft, and negotiate complex commercial agreements while ensuring appropriate contractual protections and alignment with institutional requirements.
  • Regulatory and Policy Knowledge: Strong understanding of public procurement principles, applicable laws, and organizational policies governing contracting and purchasing activities.
  • Financial Acumen: Advanced capability in pricing analysis, benchmarking, cost modeling, and total cost of ownership evaluation to support sound business decisions.
  • Risk Assessment: Ability to identify contractual, operational, and financial risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Analytical Capability: Proven ability to analyze issues of diverse scope, evaluate variable factors, and recommend practical, well-supported solutions.
  • Project Leadership: Demonstrated skill in independently managing multiple complex sourcing initiatives while balancing competing priorities and timelines.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Influence: Ability to build consensus, provide strategic guidance, and support decision-making among clinical, operational, and administrative stakeholders.
  • Communication Skills: Advanced written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Systems Proficiency: Experience utilizing enterprise resource planning systems, contract management platforms, and analytical tools to support sourcing and contracting activities.

Qualifications

  • Professional procurement certification (i.e. CPSM, C.P.M., CPPB) preferred.
  • 7 or more years of professional sourcing, procurement, or contracting experience in a complex organization, with demonstrated experience independently leading sourcing events, negotiating commercial agreements, and managing supplier relationships.
  • Experience in healthcare, higher education, public-sector, or other regulated environments preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare, an academic medical center, or a similarly complex public sector environment.
  • Experience negotiating technology, capital equipment, clinical, and/or service-based agreements.
  • Familiarity with data privacy, information security, and related contractual provisions.
  • Experience supporting supplier transitions, sourcing implementations, or large-scale procurement initiatives.

$3,275.86 - $6,026.82
