About the role

The role is located at IMI plc's Palmer location, focusing on the manufacturing and development of cutting-edge products serving the medical device and analytical instrumentation markets. The role involves overseeing the purchasing strategy to meet quality, cost, and lead time criteria.

Responsibilities

  • Purchasing strategy: Analyze internal needs, conduct market research, and define and deploy purchasing strategy for assigned commodities.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
  • Negotiation: Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to align procurement strategies with operations.
  • Risk Management: Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure purchased goods and services meet established quality standards.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry best practices.
  • Reporting: Maintain detailed records of project procurement activities and provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Achieve cost reduction and on-time delivery objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business supply chain management or engineering.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CIPS) are a plus.
  • Proven experience in global procurement and strategic sourcing, preferably in a project-based environment.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.
  • Experience with IQMS is a plus.
  • Knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional and multicultural environment.

Qualifications

Pay

$95,000 - $115,000 annually. Individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.

Schedule

This role is primarily remote. Occasional onsite support is expected during major projects and other key business needs at our production facility in Palmer, MA.
