Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives across indirect categories (e.g., IT, Marketing, Facilities, Professional Services, Travel, Transportation).
- Develop and execute category and subcategory strategies aligned with business objectives, compliance requirements, and long-term value creation.
- Drive complex, high-value supplier negotiations to secure optimal commercial terms, service levels, and risk mitigation outcomes.
- Manage the full contract lifecycle including drafting, reviewing, negotiating (in partnership with Legal), execution, and compliance monitoring.
- Identify and execute opportunities for cost reduction, value enhancement, and total cost of ownership (TCO) optimization.
- Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders across Technical Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, IT, Marketing, and Corporate Functions.
- Partner cross-functionally to align sourcing strategies with operational needs, regulatory expectations, and financial targets.
- Monitor market trends, supplier landscapes, and regulatory changes impacting indirect spend categories.
- Proactively identify and mitigate supply, operational, financial, and compliance risks through sourcing strategy and supplier diversification.
- Track and report on savings, KPIs, supplier performance, and compliance against contracted terms.
- Lead or support procurement transformation initiatives including payment terms optimization, vendor onboarding, SAP data cleanup, supplier diversity programs, and taxonomy development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Life Sciences, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of sourcing or procurement experience, with exposure to indirect categories strongly preferred.
- Strong negotiation skills and demonstrated success in complex, high-value agreements.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or regulated environments preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Jaggaer) and contract lifecycle management tools.
- Experience using data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed, and ambiguous environment.
- Procurement certifications (CPSM, CIPS) a plus.
- Experience managing supplier relationships, supplier performance programs, and cross-functional sourcing initiatives.
- Strong understanding of strategic sourcing methodologies, category management, supplier risk management, and total cost of ownership principles.
