Responsibilities
- Sources and procures raw materials, packaging, indirect materials, and services in alignment with business requirements and production needs.
- Supports strategic sourcing initiatives, including supplier evaluations, bid processes, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Analyzes market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supplier performance to support procurement strategy and decision-making.
- Negotiates pricing, payment terms, contracts, and service agreements with vendors and suppliers.
- Collaborates with Planning, Production, Warehouse, and Quality teams to ensure timely availability of materials and minimize operational disruptions.
- Maintains strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, pricing, and service expectations are consistently met.
- Monitors inventory levels and purchasing trends to support operational efficiency and inventory optimization.
- Creates and manages purchase orders while ensuring accuracy and timely processing within ERP systems.
- Tracks supplier performance metrics including on-time delivery, quality issues, and responsiveness.
- Identifies and implements process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency, cost control, and supplier performance.
- Affirms compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Supports cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives within Supply Chain and Operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration, Procurement, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- 3–5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain operations, preferably within manufacturing or CPG environments.
- Experience negotiating with vendors and managing supplier relationships.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems.
- Ability to analyze purchasing data, inventory trends, and supplier performance metrics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food manufacturing, FDA regulations, and supply chain best practices preferred.
- Preferred Skills: Experience with strategic sourcing and category management initiatives, familiarity with inventory planning and demand forecasting concepts, experience working with international suppliers and logistics coordination, continuous improvement mindset with strong attention to detail and operational efficiency.
