About the role
The Strategic Product Manager in the AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS) organization contributes to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better.
Responsibilities
- Develop and communicate product vision and strategy for knowledge integration initiatives, aligning team efforts with business and customer needs to deliver business value
- Work with team leads to surface opportunities leveraging advanced GenAI approaches
- Build and prioritize product roadmaps, backlogs, and epics, translating business and technical requirements into clear tasks and acceptance criteria
- Cook up and execute ongoing software development and service projects, ensuring effective resource allocation and timely delivery
- Track project progress and report outcomes, developing and utilizing KPIs to measure success and identify areas for improvement in team coordination and customer engagement
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) and support team alignment on product goals
- Build cooperative relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders across the enterprise, serving as the key point-of-contact for KIA in the US
- Identify opportunities for expanding language and translation product reach, especially in key regions like US & LATAM, supporting onboarding and customer engagement strategies to increase ecosystem adoption
- Serve as the contact point for stakeholder updates, project transparency, and feedback loops
- Advocate for efficient knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with 7 years experience OR Masters degree with 6 years' experience OR PhD with 2 years' experience in product management, product ownership, or project coordination in technical/data-centric environments
- Experience leading Agile teams, coaching others in Agile methodologies, and driving organizational change towards the product operating model
- Working knowledge of ontology design, FAIR principles, and data/metadata standards
- Basic understanding of terminology management preferred
- Experience working with language/translation solutions preferred, including translation management systems
- Excellent communication skills capable of translating complex concepts for different audiences
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Understanding of and respect for cultural differences, especially with the global nature of the team's work and the focus on the US market
- Deep familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and tools (Jira, Confluence)
- Proficiency with MS 360 tools (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint)
- Experience within pharmaceutical R&D or scientific domains a plus
