Strategic Operations & Finance Intern, SACC-San Diego, Fall 2026 Position Filled
About the role
The Strategic Operations & Finance Intern will receive hands-on training in managing the Chamber’s operational structure, financial processes, and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Supporting budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting
- Aiding in financial planning for events, webinars, delegations, and networking programs
- Managing financial tracking systems and maintaining organized operational documentation
- Supporting communication and reporting to the Board of Directors and the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce USA
- Aiding the Board Secretary with preparing board meetings, compiling board materials, and coordinating agendas
- Taking meeting minutes during Board meetings and distributing minutes in a timely and professional manner
- Supporting follow-up on board action items and governance documentation
- Aiding in planning and coordinating business screenings and curated networking opportunities for members and partners
- Supporting operational logistics for events and executive-level programs
- Contributing to process improvements and development of efficient internal systems
- Aiding in sponsorship tracking and revenue management initiatives
- Participating in member engagement and professional networking activities
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a university program or recently graduated within a relevant field
- Able to work full-time for six consecutive months
- Fully fluent in both oral and written Swedish and English
- Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively
- Analytical with strong attention to detail
- Highly organized with excellent administrative abilities
- Outgoing with strong professional communication skills
- A Swedish citizen (required)
- Experience in budgeting and accounting
- Project management and leadership experience
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Experience in Wave is preferable but not required
- Knowledge in Excel and Outlook

Benefits
This is a six-month internship starting in July of 2026. The internship does not provide monetary compensation as SACC-USA is a non-profit organization. As an intern abroad, you can apply for scholarships. Depending on the university program, some students may also be eligible for student aid from CSN. SACC-USA will assist with the visa application process. To be eligible for a J-1 visa, you must be a Swedish citizen. This position provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable real-world experience and business-related skills, while also developing a professional international network. Working in a highly inspirational atmosphere and collaborating with industry leaders and professionals across various business sectors will allow you to acquire new experiences and enhance your skills.
