About the Role

Facilitates the movement of all Group and component commands’ gear and equipment, including collecting, inspecting, staging, and pre-positioning all material to meet required delivery dates and priorities for squadron/unit movements. Acts as liaison with Airlift Mobility Command (AMC) personnel for pre-positioning of cargo.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain electronic and paper-based files, including equipment maintenance records, scale history jackets, inventory records, personnel and vehicle logs, load manifests, and other documentation as prescribed by regulations.
  • Validate aircraft configurations, hazardous material packaging, and transportation requirements.
  • Oversee the upkeep and physical condition of Air Force pallets, nets, ancillary equipment, MILVANs, International Shipping Units (ISU), and ISO containers.
  • Maintain vehicles and yards, conduct daily inspections, and ensure containers are in designated areas.
  • Perform duties that may require walking over rough terrain, climbing, and standing for long periods.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of transportation planning and coordination functions, including hazardous materials.
  • Familiarity with federal transportation regulations (49 CFR), International Air Transportation Association (IATA), International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG), and Air Force Joint Manuals.
  • Journeyman-level vehicle mechanic skills for automotive and construction equipment operation.
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A, forklift license (up to 12,000 lb. capacity), and tractor-trailer (semi) license.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in ordnance shipping, SPECWAR team movement, Army and Air Force mobility programs, and in-depth knowledge of DOD/Naval Physical Security, Safety, and Ordnance regulations.
