Job Description
The Regional Strategic Management Office Senior Manager (“SMOSM”) serves as the regional strategic execution lead, responsible for driving the translation of global transformation priorities into coherent, executable, and measurable regional programs. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy, serving as the primary integrator between global program owners, regional leadership, and functional/divisional stakeholders.
This position holds end-to-end accountability for the design, setup, governance, and performance management of regional transformation initiatives, ensuring business readiness, cross-functional alignment, risk mitigation, and timely issue resolution. Acting as the senior advisor and execution partner to both the Regional Head of SMO and the Regional President’s leadership team, the SMOSM shapes strategic discussions, informs decision-making, and ensures that regional structures remain optimally aligned with global expectations.
- Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Translation & Regionalization (Accountable)
- Translate global transformation strategies into region-specific execution roadmaps, ensuring feasibility and alignment with market realities.
- Shape regional input into global steering forums, providing strategic analysis, risk scenarios, and operational recommendations.
- Ensure consistent strategic messaging and alignment across senior regional stakeholders.
Regional Transformation Governance Leadership
- Own the regional governance model, including decision frameworks, steering routines, KPI tracking, and escalation processes.
- Establish and enforce regional project management standards, ensuring high quality, consistent execution across programs.
- Lead cross-functional risk/issue resolution and ensure timely decision making.
Cross-Functional Program Leadership
- Lead multi-workstream regional rollout programs, including planning, sequencing, dependency mapping, and milestone assurance.
- Manage complex interdependencies across divisions, functions, and country organizations.
- Provide structured program leadership for initiatives of strategic importance (e.g., operating model changes, ERP transformation, process harmonization, capability build).
Senior Stakeholder Management & Executive Influence
- Serve as the primary senior operational counterpart for global program leaders and regional executives.
- Facilitate alignment between the Regional Head of SMO and the Regional President on priorities, resourcing, and strategic risks.
- Drive clarity across executive discussions through well-structured decision papers, insights, and scenario analyses.
Program Setup, Business Readiness & Organizational Enablement
- Lead the creation of program charters, stakeholder maps, resource models, and business readiness assessments.
- Drive onboarding and capability-building sessions for regional teams to ensure readiness for transformation requirements.
- Partner with HR, Finance, and functional leaders to align organizational structures with transformation needs.
Executive Reporting, Insights & Communication
- Produce executive-grade dashboards, health assessments, and transformation scorecards.
- Synthesize regional inputs into concise narratives for global steering committees and regional executive reviews.
- Lead communication efforts that build awareness, alignment, and sustained engagement.
Change Leadership & Adoption Management
- Identify behavioral, operational, and structural adoption risks early and propose actionable mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate region-wide workshops, capability sessions, and change interventions.
- Drive alignment with country clusters to ensure adoption of new standards and processes.
Continuous Improvement & SMO Methodology Ownership
- Evolve regional PMO/SMO methodologies, standards, and toolkits.
- Introduce best practices in transformation management, risk governance, and cross-functional orchestration.
- Champion consistency and excellence across all regional transformation programs.
Job Qualifications
- Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Engineering, or related field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, PMO, consulting, business operations, or transformation support
Experience working in multinational, highly matrixed organizations
Proven track record leading regional or enterprise-level programs
Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to independently manage complex topics with minimal guidance from leadership
Mastery of project/program management tools
Advanced PowerPoint/Excel; strong analytical skills
Fluent English required
Ability to travel internationally as required for meetings, workshops, or program support
- PREFERRED:
Advanced degree (MBA, MSc) strongly preferred, ideally with focus on Strategy, Transformation, or Organizational Development
