About the role

The evolving requirement of the U.S. strategic missile programs have required the continual development of highly capable advanced composite materials such as Carbon/Carbon (C/C) and Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) to deliver differentiated missile performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evaluate advanced composite materials for missile applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure material performance meets program requirements.
  • Contribute to the design and testing of new composite materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in composite materials research and development.
  • Experience with CMCs and/or C/C materials.
  • Strong understanding of material properties and failure modes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in material testing and characterization techniques.
  • Knowledge of composite manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of composite materials science.
  • Experience with CMCs and/or C/C materials.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
