About the role
The evolving requirement of the U.S. strategic missile programs have required the continual development of highly capable advanced composite materials such as Carbon/Carbon (C/C) and Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) to deliver differentiated missile performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate advanced composite materials for missile applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure material performance meets program requirements.
- Contribute to the design and testing of new composite materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in composite materials research and development.
- Experience with CMCs and/or C/C materials.
- Strong understanding of material properties and failure modes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in material testing and characterization techniques.
- Knowledge of composite manufacturing processes.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills
- Advanced knowledge of composite materials science.
- Experience with CMCs and/or C/C materials.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
