About the role

The Financial Analyst will join the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah or Houston, Texas. FP&A is a key partner to executive and business line leaders, enabling data-driven decisions to create sustainable financial performance and enhance shareholder value. The Corporate FP&A team handles internal executive reporting, planning, and ad hoc analytical requests. This role offers high exposure to executive management and insight into the organization’s financial results, with a focus on automation and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Create executive and board-level presentations explaining key financial trends
  • Produce monthly financial reporting for an executive audience
  • Contribute to annual planning and quarterly forecasting processes, owning the timeline for all groups within the bank and understanding treasury and other central functions
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in impactful items such as FDIC insurance
  • Perform ad hoc analytical requests as needed

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of related work experience; additional experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related or quantitative discipline (finance, economics, math, etc.) preferred; Master’s degree may substitute for experience
  • Advanced Excel skills, including INDEX-MATCH, XLOOKUP, TEXT, INDIRECT, array formulas, pivot tables with calculated fields, named objects, and basic VBA
  • Experience using Hyperion for reporting, planning, and ad hoc analysis is preferred
  • Familiarity with bank products, bank financial statements, and the banking capital regulatory environment is a plus
  • Ability to handle tight deadlines, competing demands, and occasionally changing requirements
  • Experience using SQL to query and manipulate large datasets is a plus
  • Experience using SAP Business Objects is a plus
  • Desire and ability to improve processes and drive efficiency
