About the role
Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Clinical Sequencing Division (CSD) is seeking a Strategic Alliances Manager to lead and cultivate partnerships with pharmaceutical companies, driving the adoption of next-generation sequencing technologies in companion diagnostics. This role requires deep expertise in clinical sequencing, in vitro diagnostics (IVD), and the pharmaceutical industry, along with strong relationship management and negotiation skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance on forming new partnership agreements, clarifying details within the organization, and highlighting commitments and expected outcomes.
- Organize and lead joint steering committee meetings, ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting.
- Arrange internal meetings to strengthen strategic partnerships.
- Oversee shared responsibilities outlined in partnership agreements and provide regular updates on execution.
- Identify and address issues within partnerships that could hinder collective success.
- Implement dispute resolution methods as per partnership terms.
- Actively seek ways to add value to existing partnerships.
- Draft and execute contract amendments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, legal, finance, or life sciences (or equivalent experience).
- 6+ years of experience in the diagnostics/biotech tools industry, with at least 3 years in legal, finance, contract development, business development, licensing, R&D, commercial, or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of the IVD development process relevant to diagnostic/biotech organizations.
- Proficiency in analyzing scientific/clinical, legal/regulatory, business, financial, and market data.
- Ability to translate complex contract terms into strategic and operational elements for internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience analyzing deal/financial models and implementing legal contracts/amendments.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding professional objectives and goals.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Schedule
Standard (Monday–Friday).
Pay
The salary range for this position based in Arizona is $93,800–$140,000. Eligible for a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance.
