Responsibilities
- Supports the Engineering team and GIS Division by providing technical assistance and assisting with GIS data collection.
- Utilizes geospatial technology (e.g., ESRI software on a field tablet) to accurately log GPS coordinates and capture photographic documentation.
- Inputs, maintains, and integrates field data and other information into the City’s Geographic Information System (GIS) geodatabase.
- Generates maps, figures, and supporting documentation (e.g., tables, summaries) from the collected GIS data.
- Analyzes the collected data to highlight and map areas with high-severity issues, helping prioritize future stream restoration, maintenance, and stormwater management activities based on field data.
Qualifications
- Ability to use ESRI's ArcGIS Pro, Survey123, ArcGIS Online, Dashboards, and Experience Builder.
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
Requirements
- High school diploma with additional college coursework in Geographic Information Systems or a related field, or any combination of education, training, and experience providing the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform
