About the role
Independently performs stormwater and floodplain management assignments for Primera’s Transportation, Buildings and Utilities divisions. On a task basis, is responsible for preparation and completion of stormwater engineering designs that are responsive to project needs.
Responsibilities
- Experience in completing hydrologic and hydraulic calculations for small and large watersheds, Phase I & II storm water design, storm sewer and detention modeling, floodplain delineations, grading, and erosion and sediment control plans.
- Obtain associated local, state and federal permitting for private and public projects.
- Interface with vendors and clients.
- Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, supporting documents, and permit applications, and perform field investigations.
- Maintain project documentation, including calculations, project filing, etc.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering, with five years of experience in stormwater management design and analysis.
- Licensed Professional Engineer with CFM and/or CPESC – highly preferred or able to obtain in the future.
- Familiarity with agency permitting including City of Chicago, MWRD, DuPage County, IDNR-OWR, FEMA and USACE, and knowledge of codes and standards (IDOT, Tollway, ACOE, FHWA, etc.).
- Design experience in completing hydrologic and hydraulic calculations for small and large watersheds, Phase I & II storm water design, storm sewer and detention modeling, grading, and erosion and sediment control plans.
- Knowledge with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-HMS, TR-20, HEC-RAS and XPSWMM.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microstation and/or AutoCAD.
- Experience with Geopak, Civil3D, or GIS is a plus.
