About the role
The role involves assisting the Material Services organization by performing duties related to material accountability, operation of the storeroom and storage yards.
Responsibilities
- Issue material under proper authorization; process and file required records.
- Check received material for quantity; make visual inspection for identity, breakage, and condition; initiate and process material receipt and related records.
- Report irregularities and abnormal conditions.
- Identify, sort and record material returned; place usable material in stock, and sort non-usable material into scrap containers; record applicable information and process related records.
- Operate computer terminals and printers supporting a materials management system, and other office equipment such as calculators, scanners etc.
- Prepare and pack material for shipment or storage, including preparation of required shipping papers and other related records.
- Operate material handling equipment such as hand trucks, forklift trucks, low lift trucks, hoists, overhead cranes, order pickers, or any other equipment as required.
- Absorb and rearrange materials in storage areas as needed.
- Perform inventory cycle counts and make adjustments as necessary.
- Assist employees of equal or higher classification.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One year work experience in inventory control and management, material handling, warehousing, or related experience.
- Basic computer skills to use inventory management software such as Maximo; Microsoft Excel and Word experience is also preferred.
- Sufficient knowledge and skills to perform the duties and/or responsibilities listed above.
- Strong working knowledge of logistics related to shipping and relocating inventory.
- Basic math functions.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to safely lift up to 70 pounds.
- Completion of the Physical Ability Test (PAT).
- Appropriate State drive license.
- Commercial Drive License (CDL) within six months of entry into this job classification or vacate the current job classification.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment including motorized forklifts and road vehicles.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED.
- Minimum of 24 months of satisfactory performance as Stores Attendant B.
- Thorough working knowledge of all Material Management practices and procedures as they apply to regular job responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to keep neat, concise and accurate records.
- High school graduate or equivalent education and/or experience.
- Vehicle operation requirements as designated by federal and/or state law.
- Ability to operate stores material handling equipment and road vehicles.
- Ability to safely lift and handle materials and equipment weighing up to 70 pounds.
Skills

Pay
- Stores Attendant B: $26.60 - $31.84
- Stores Attendant A: $33.38 - $36.21
- Storekeeper: $38.00 - $39.42
Schedule
Successful candidates must live or be willing to relocate within 45 miles of the Delaware Service Center (1163 Slack Rd. Delaware, Ohio 43015).
