About the role
Assist the Material Services organization by performing duties related to material accountability, operation of the storeroom and storage yards.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to provide a safe work environment and a safe distribution system for employees and the public.
- Promote and enforce adherence to the Company's Accident Prevention and Safety and Health programs to safeguard employees, the general public and Company property.
- Supervise resources and assets to meet business unit and corporate goals.
- Supervise the construction, maintenance and operation of the distribution system within appropriate design standards to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
- Provide leadership and direction to ensure all employees are well trained, knowledgeable, enabled and focused on the success of the company.
- Supervise resources within assigned budgets.
- Supervise resources to provide safe and timely service restoration during outages.
- Carry out, within the assigned area of responsibility, the Company's program of Equal Employment Opportunity, including its Affirmative Action obligations.
Requirements
- Education requirements: High School Diploma or GED
- Work Experience: A minimum of one year work experience in inventory control and management, material handling, warehousing, or related experience is required.
- Basic Computer Skills: Must possess basic computer skills to use inventory management software such as Maximo; Microsoft Excel and Word experience is also preferred.
- Physical Capabilities: Must possess the appropriate State drive license. Must be able to operate material handling equipment including motorized forklifts and road vehicles.
- Knowledge and Skills: Must have sufficient knowledge and skills to perform the duties and/or responsibilities listed above, and also have the physical capabilities to perform the required work.
- Other: Thorough knowledge of distribution systems required. Acceptable written and verbal communications skills.
- Travel: Must be able to travel to various locations for extended periods 1 – 5 days during the week.
- Other: Must be able to see information on computer screen and use computer keyboard. Must be able to hear spoken words via telephone, cell phone or during individual or group meetings. Occasionally working in inclement weather and on uneven surfaces.
Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of distribution systems required.
- Acceptable written and verbal communications skills.
- Must be able to safely lift up to 70 pounds; successful completion of the Physical Ability Test (PAT) is required.

Schedule
Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
