About the role

Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is a renowned healthcare provider located on Long Island, NY, offering a full continuum of services including short-term rehabilitation, long-term skilled nursing care, home care programs, adult day health, ventilator-dependent care, palliative and hospice care, a Memory Care Unit, and on-site dialysis. The Gurwin Family of Services also includes assisted and independent living communities.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM. Occasional holiday and weekend coverage is required.

Responsibilities

• Receive and dispense all materials, supplies, and equipment delivered to the Gurwin Center.
• Maintain inventory control inside the storeroom, in both oxygen tank storage rooms, and on all Nursing floors.
• Handle all incoming deliveries except those for Dietary and Pharmacy Departments.
• Maintain accurate delivery receipts and records for resident belongings storage.
• Maintain inventory par levels on all Nursing Units.
• Prepare and deliver all departmental requisitions.
• Maintain oxygen room; deliver and monitor usage for each Nursing Unit.
• Stock and rotate all supplies on storeroom shelves.
• Maintain a clean and neat working environment; sweep and move pallets as needed.
• Keep shelves organized with all box top flaps cut and supplies in labeled places.
• Demonstrate cooperation and professionalism when dealing with peers and supervisors.
• Assist in the transportation of residents, as appropriate.
• Adhere to all aspects of customer service, including teamwork, empathy, courteous communication, and respect for others.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
• Prior Stores & Receiving experience preferred.
• Ability to lift, bend, squat, push, and pull.
• May be exposed to extremes of heat and cold in all weather conditions.
