Shipping and Receiving Clerk

About the role

Successfully move materials through the facility using material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack, hoist). Support manufacturing and engineering by supplying materials in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments with freight handling companies, UPS, and FedEx.
• Deliver material to and from appropriate physical locations in a timely manner; return unused material to inventory.
• Operate and perform barcode scanning and data entry into the ERP system for inventory tracking.
• Stack skids or pallets in designated areas; clean up and dispose of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping in proper containers.
• Assist truck drivers with loading and unloading.
• Package goods for shipment to customers and/or returns to vendors.
• Plan, monitor, and order all materials required for packaging.
• Perform pickups and deliveries using the company vehicle.
• Build, construct, and assemble industrial crates for shipping small parts and finished products.
• Assist other departments and perform additional jobs to meet customer and mission objectives.
• Participate in and implement continuous process improvement activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of related work experience.
• Experience with computers, programs, and data entry is required.
• Experience with MIL Spec packaging is preferred.
• Previous material handling operational and department leadership experience is a plus.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Valid US Driver’s License.
• US Greencard or US Citizenship.
• Able to lift 25 lbs.
• Some carpentry experience is preferred.

Schedule

1st shift, Monday - Friday with some Saturdays.
