As a Storeroom/Receiver, you will verify and maintain accurate records of incoming shipments, prepare items for assembly, and manage material storage and distribution. Responsibilities
- Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure incoming shipments to verify against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Accurately label all incoming freight using packing slips and purchase orders.
- Enter receipts, issues, and transactions into MAPICS; track item balances and dock dates.
- Report material shortages in MAPICS and communicate with buyers, supervisors, and suppliers regarding shortages or damaged shipments.
- Organize material for easy locating, minimizing damage, and considering factors like temperature, humidity, weight limits, and space requirements.
- Unpack and inspect incoming shipments; note visible damage on bills of lading (BOL), take photos, and notify Quality for disposition.
- Record short shipments on BOL and coordinate with carriers to resolve discrepancies.
- Operate forklift trucks, bridge cranes, or hand trucks to move shipments between platforms, storage, and work areas.
- Perform daily cycle counts for reorder accuracy as directed by Plant Controller & Materials Manager.
- Fill orders (e.g., Kanban) or issue supplies from stock, maintaining accurate records of distributed material.
- Requisition articles to fulfill incoming orders and process RMA requests.
- Report work-related injuries, near misses, and unsafe conditions to supervision.
- Wear required PPE and follow all safety and environmental rules.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, safety rules, operating/maintenance manuals, and shop-floor paperwork.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in one-on-one or small group settings.
Work Environment
The role involves occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently stand, walk, and sit; occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Pay
$24.12 - $28.49 per hour, plus a $1.50 shift premium. Rate determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, and market alignment.
