About the role
This role is located onsite at our Moncure, NC manufacturing site.
Responsibilities
- Directly supervises Storeroom Technicians and/or other assigned employees
- Provides leadership, coaching, training, and performance management
- Schedules work, assigns tasks, and ensures coverage
- Conducts performance reviews and development planning
- Fosters a high-performance team environment
- Oversee the security, cleanliness, and overall organization of the storeroom
- Direct and coordinate all incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency
- Oversee the daily receipt of storeroom and non-stock items in compliance with company procedures
- Ensure team members properly gather, label, and stage materials associated with work orders
- Partner with Maintenance to ensure required parts are in stock and where they should be for planned and unplanned repairs
- Enforce accuracy and timeliness of all storeroom transactions, holding team members accountable to standards
- Review and analyze daily, monthly, and ad hoc reports to drive operational improvements
- Supervise the pickup and delivery of parts across site to support operational needs
- Oversee the setup and maintenance of item master data and locations within CMMS systems
- Lead and audit cycle count processes to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with schedules
- Manage month-end inventory and accounting preparation activities for the storeroom
- Oversee the movement, tracking, and optimization of company assets and surplus materials
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management to storeroom employees
- Ensure team coverage and support during extended hours, shutdowns, breakdowns, and critical operations
- Drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of SOPs for the storeroom and purchasing processes
- Ensure compliance with MSDS, HAZMAT, and all regulatory requirements within the storeroom
- Lead and coordinate projects and continuous improvement initiatives within the storeroom function
- Identify, address, and resolve safety issues; hold team accountable for maintaining a safe work environment
- Verify participation in mill safety programs and reinforce a strong safety culture within the team
- Perform and delegate additional responsibilities as needed to support business operations
- Foster a collaborative team environment focused on engagement, cross-training, and development
- Model and reinforce core team values, expectations, and behaviors
- Lead and facilitate team business meetings and Team Management System (TMS) activities
- Guide and support the team in making sound, data-driven business decisions
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- 3- 5 years Manufacturing experience required
- Materials Storeroom experience preferred
- Forklift certified or ability to become certified required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows required
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Strong computerized maintenance management systems knowledge required (SAP preferred)
- Strong written and communication skills
- Self-motivated and strong organizational skills
- Use good judgment and analysis in decision-making with ability to prioritize
- Detail oriented
- Ability to lead the vendors management process, oversee/audit Cycle counting and inventory counts preferred
