Storeroom Clerk - Full Time - Day

Responsibilities
A day in the life of a team member at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
- Receives all incoming supplies for the Food Services Department, checking the orders to ensure they correspond with the invoice or delivery ticket.
- Checks the physical condition of the supplies when checking in the orders (e.g., opening a can of tomatoes or lettuce to check the quality of items) and notifies the manager if a problem occurs.
- Responsible for filling requisitions for food that leaves the department and supplies for the cafeteria.
- Responsible for storing all supplies in their proper locations.
- All food items being stored must be rotated on a First In First Out system. All items must be dated.
- Maintains the storerooms, freezers, and refrigerators to ensure compliance with proper food storage:
- All dry goods must be stored 6' off the ground and 18" below sprinkler heads.
- All food stored in refrigerators must be stored 6" off the ground.
- Minimum accuracy rate of 95%.
- All perishable food must be stored within one hour of delivery.
Supplemental Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains and organizes all dietary storage areas, refrigerators, and freezers in a clean and safe manner.
- Responsible for cleaning the work area on a daily basis and following the cleaning schedule for weekly clearing projects.
- Responsible for working the soup station on the patient tray line.
- Maintains a healthy and sanitary work environment that meets the needs of both the local and state Department of Health regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- Previous storeroom work experience preferred.
Pay
Minimum rate of $17.24 hourly. The starting rate of pay is provided for informational purposes only and is not a guarantee of a specific offer. Posted hourly rates may be stated as an annual salary in the offer, and posted annual salaries may be stated as an hourly rate in the offer, depending on the level and nature of the job duties and credentials of the candidate.
Base compensation may vary based on non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to: labor market data, experience, education and certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, budget and grant funding, and shift differentials for evening, night, or weekend shifts.
