About the Role

Join our team at Vallen as a Storeroom Crib Attendant, working at a customer's location to fulfill daily receiving, stocking, issuing, and cycle counting of customer and/or Vallen inventory. You will maintain a professional, clean, and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Unload, receive, and put away incoming product, goods, tools, and/or equipment; unpack containers and check for damage or discrepancies between goods and invoices.
  • Accurately sort, label, move, and store items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to size, style, or product codes; optimize crib space.
  • Issue product, goods, tools, and/or equipment to site employees; document and maintain accurate records for issued and returned items.
  • Enter data into a database or computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records; retrieve stored information to respond to inquiries (e.g., inventory levels or delivery schedules).
  • Document discrepancies on an error log and seek management advice on corrective action.
  • Request requisitions to replenish inventory; assist with inventory level maintenance, perform cycle counts, and prepare report results.
  • Inspect and measure tools/equipment for defects, wear, and tear; report damage or wear to supervisors.
  • Prepare periodic inventory or maintain perpetual inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Deliver tools or equipment to associate work locations; investigate and locate lost or misplaced equipment or safety supplies.
  • Perform repairs, services, and lubricate tools and equipment as required.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent coupled with 3+ months of relevant experience and/or training.
  • Experience loading, unloading, picking, packing, or moving goods in a warehouse environment; forklift/cherry picker experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work orders, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic computer knowledge and proficiency or demonstrated technical aptitude to learn; preferred skills include MS-Office products, Vista, Control, SX.e, Prophet 21.
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals); ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent preferred.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and be self-motivated to accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
  • Attention to detail and safety-minded.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Work environment may not be temperature-controlled; ability to work in extreme hot or cold environments.
  • Ability to work in dusty conditions.
  • May handle hazardous materials and wear protective equipment (shoes, gloves, protective eyewear, etc.).
  • May require forklift or other warehouse equipment certifications (written and/or driving).
  • Assigned work shifts may vary and/or rotate; overtime may be required with extended day, evening, and weekend work as job duties demand, sometimes with little or no advanced notice.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. or greater with assistance following standard operating and safety procedures.
  • Physical requirements include standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, crawling, climbing, and balancing.
  • Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
