Store Team Member-Daytime/Weekday (Cashier, Stocker, Animal Care)
About the Role
We are currently looking for daytime Team Members for mostly weekdays and some weekends if available. This role offers flexible schedules, career advancement opportunities, and a great employee discount program.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional, neighborly service at every opportunity, including:
- Helping neighbors select the perfect toy for their pets
- Reviewing and comparing ingredient labels of food brands for concerned pet parents
- Fitting pets with the perfect harness
- Educating customers on bird ownership and general pet care
- Stocking shelves and ringing up purchases
- Feeding and caring for in-store pets, ensuring their cages are clean and well-maintained
- Specialize in one or more of the following areas:
- Cashier: Process neighbors’ purchases accurately and efficiently, and provide Preferred Pet Club membership information.
- Stocker: Safely unload delivery trucks, stock shelves, and carry purchases to neighbors’ cars.
- Pet Care: Clean habitats, feed and handle animals, and answer neighbors’ questions about pet care.
Requirements
- Be passionate about people and their pets.
- Support teammates by acting as backup when extra help is needed.
- Be knowledgeable about animals and products to provide outstanding service.
- Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Pass a drug screening (in applicable states).
- Be at least 16 years old.
The position can be physically demanding, requiring heavy lifting (40-65 lbs.) and standing for long periods of time.
