Store Supervisor
Duties And Responsibilities
- Set-up, management, operation, and maintenance of all Salvation Army stores.
- Create a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintain good customer relationships.
- Ensure compliance to accounting, employee, and store policies.
- Manage sales, production, and expense budget goals for all stores.
- Maintain records, note trends, and take appropriate action to ensure profitable operations.
- Recruit, interview, train, coach, assign, and manage employees.
- Conduct regular evaluations of employees, recommend training, and prepare written warnings.
- Evaluate store management and personnel, recommend training needs, and ensure compliance with safety measures.
- Evaluate productivity, adherence to policies, hours of operation, appearance, signage, cleanliness, and safety.
- Inspect stores regularly, reconcile cash, and ensure proper staffing patterns and schedules.
- Plan and organize monthly manager meetings, communicate with other departments, and handle employee and customer complaints.
- Inspect special donations and support the work therapy program.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in sales (merchandising experience preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Leadership and motivational abilities.
- Ability to analyze sales and financial reports.
- Ability to identify and assess market value of merchandise.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable DMV record.
- Basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting: Over 2/3 of the time.
- Lifting: Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
- Pushing/Pulling: Using machinery.
- Standing: Over 2/3 of the time.
- Walking: Over 2/3 of the time.
- Reaching: Over 2/3 of the time.
- Climbing: Under 1/3 of the time.
- Stooping: Under 1/3 of the time.
