The Store Manager at Mattress Firm leads the vision, company initiatives, and sales performance goals by holding associates accountable for in-store merchandising in multiple store units. They also lead selling programs and drive related KPI results in multiple store units while supporting the omni-channel experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one meetings to understand team motivations and aspirations.
- Develop a comprehensive team "bio book" that evolves with new insights.
- Conduct 30-60-90-day check-ins with new team members to discuss progress and opportunities.
- Manage workforce management activities such as store staffing schedules and punch reconciliation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and state regulations.
- Communicate professionally and represent the company brand in all internal and external interactions.
- Plan strategically and analyze company-provided reporting to determine appropriate staffing levels.
- Partner with leadership to make staffing level changes.
- Provide technical and product knowledge to associates and customers, serving as a subject matter expert.
- Analyze company-provided reporting to identify skill gaps and address them through coaching.
- Achieve or exceed individual store financial targets through effective execution and customer service.
- Ensure store execution of product merchandising, marketing, and POP standards.
- Partner with marketing to plan, implement, and monitor assigned store's social media strategy.
- Manage timely opening and closing procedures.
- Monitor stock inventory levels for assigned store.
- Follow all Company procedures on cash handling, including acceptance of payment and deposit processes.
- Create and execute customer invoicing according to company policies.
- Stand or sit for 8+ hours at a time.
- Execute company initiatives and other activities requested by the supervisor.
- Maintain awareness of competition, advertisements, and services offered, developing strategies to counter.
- Conduct store-level inventory processes and research any discrepancies.
- Partner with leadership and corporate partners as needed.
- Lift, push, or pull up to 50+ pounds.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
