The Store Manager at Mattress Firm leads the vision, company initiatives, and sales performance goals by holding associates accountable for in-store merchandising in multiple store units. They also lead selling programs and drive related KPI results in multiple store units while supporting the omni-channel experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct one-on-one meetings to understand team motivations and aspirations.
  • Develop a comprehensive team "bio book" that evolves with new insights.
  • Conduct 30-60-90-day check-ins with new team members to discuss progress and opportunities.
  • Manage workforce management activities such as store staffing schedules and punch reconciliation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and state regulations.
  • Communicate professionally and represent the company brand in all internal and external interactions.
  • Plan strategically and analyze company-provided reporting to determine appropriate staffing levels.
  • Partner with leadership to make staffing level changes.
  • Provide technical and product knowledge to associates and customers, serving as a subject matter expert.
  • Analyze company-provided reporting to identify skill gaps and address them through coaching.
  • Achieve or exceed individual store financial targets through effective execution and customer service.
  • Ensure store execution of product merchandising, marketing, and POP standards.
  • Partner with marketing to plan, implement, and monitor assigned store's social media strategy.
  • Manage timely opening and closing procedures.
  • Monitor stock inventory levels for assigned store.
  • Follow all Company procedures on cash handling, including acceptance of payment and deposit processes.
  • Create and execute customer invoicing according to company policies.
  • Stand or sit for 8+ hours at a time.
  • Execute company initiatives and other activities requested by the supervisor.
  • Maintain awareness of competition, advertisements, and services offered, developing strategies to counter.
  • Conduct store-level inventory processes and research any discrepancies.
  • Partner with leadership and corporate partners as needed.
  • Lift, push, or pull up to 50+ pounds.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions.
  • Experience in retail operations and customer service.
  • Knowledge of store management systems and practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
