Store Sales Associate

About the Role

The Sales Associate plays a critical role in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction through product knowledge and engagement. This position requires a proactive individual who demonstrates integrity, effective communication, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic retail environment. The Sales Associate contributes to building a positive work culture, driving employee involvement, and supporting change management within the retail organization.

Responsibilities

• Processes freight and assists with price changes/markdowns.
• Balances register according to company policy and handles all cash, checks, and credit cards correctly.
• Obtains management approval for returns, voids, and checks when needed.
• Provides excellent customer service, including greeting customers, assisting with fitting room policies, and processing transactions efficiently.
• Follows all safety procedures and maintains a professional, neat appearance, including wearing a name tag.
• Assists management in merchandising the sales floor according to stock levels.
• Explains exchange/refund policies to customers after transactions.
• Supports Loss Prevention procedures by preventing shoplifting and cash losses, reporting incidents, and following operational policies.
• Performs maintenance and housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages).
