Store Sales Associate

About the Role

The Sales Associate delivers excellent customer service and ensures customer satisfaction by having thorough knowledge of merchandise. This role requires a proactive, vigilant individual who engages with customers, demonstrates integrity, and communicates effectively in a dynamic retail setting. The Sales Associate contributes to a positive work culture, drives employee involvement, and supports change management efforts.

Responsibilities

• Processes freight and assists with price changes/markdowns.
• Balances register according to company policy and handles all cash, checks, and credit cards correctly.
• Obtains management approval for returns, voids, and checks when needed.
• Bags merchandise efficiently and completes customer transactions in a timely manner.
• Provides proper customer service, including greeting customers, abiding by fitting room policies, and thanking customers for their business.
• Follows all safety procedures and maintains a professional, neat appearance, including wearing a name tag.
• Assists management in merchandising the sales floor according to stock levels.
• Explains exchange/refund policies to customers after transactions.
• Supports Loss Prevention procedures by preventing shoplifting and cash losses, reporting incidents of theft or dishonesty, and following operational policies.
• Performs maintenance and housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages).
