About the Role
The Sales Associate plays a critical role in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction through product knowledge and engagement. This position requires a proactive, vigilant individual who demonstrates integrity, effective communication, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic retail environment. The Sales Associate contributes to a positive work culture, supports change management, and assists in driving employee involvement.
Responsibilities
- Processes freight and assists with price changes/markdowns.
- Balances register according to company policy and handles all cash, checks, and credit cards correctly.
- Obtains management approval for returns, voids, and checks when necessary.
- Performs maintenance and housekeeping duties as assigned.
- Provides excellent customer service, including greeting customers, assisting with fitting room policies, ringing transactions efficiently, and thanking customers for their business.
- Follows all safety procedures and maintains a professional, neat appearance, including wearing a name tag.
- Assists management in merchandising the sales floor according to stock levels.
- Explains exchange/refund policies to customers after transactions.
- Supports Loss Prevention procedures, including preventing shoplifting and cash losses, reporting incidents of theft or dishonesty, and adhering to operational policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages).
