Store Planner/Architectural Designer [SK-14317]

This client shapes the physical landscape of retail, managing a vast network of locations and delivering consistent brand experiences. They seek innovative talent to drive store development and rollout initiatives, ensuring brand standards are maintained during expansion.

About the role

As a pivotal force, you will directly influence the physical presence of a major national brand by leading the end-to-end planning and design of high-volume retail stores. Your role involves adapting standard layouts to diverse site conditions, maintaining corporate standards, and resolving complex design challenges to enhance customer experience nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive store design and planning processes, from initial scoping through construction issue resolution.
• Create, refine, and maintain detailed architectural layouts, fixture plans, and complete drawing packages.
• Update and adapt standard store layouts to accommodate specific site conditions and evolving project requirements.
• Conduct thorough reviews of external consultant drawing sets for quality, completeness, and adherence to brand standards.
• Execute precise markups, revisions, and document coordination using document review and markup software.
• Collaborate with a matrixed internal team (architecture, engineering, environmental design) and external partners to resolve design challenges.
• Track and integrate feedback, comments, and redlines under tight deadlines.
• Actively participate in virtual team environments, including on-camera engagement during collaboration platform meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in retail store planning, corporate rollouts, or interior planning.
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on professional experience using CAD software, BIM software, document review and markup software, and spreadsheet software.
• Proven track record of managing multiple concurrent projects while applying replication standards across high-volume sites.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage shifting priorities.
• Deep familiarity with construction documents, fixture planning, and consultant coordination workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field (nice-to-have).
