About the role
The Store Operations Administrator (SOA) assists the manager in the daily operations of the Bassett Home Furnishings retail location to ensure the store’s financial objectives, customer experience, and daily tasks are consistently achieved. SOAs work with customers to arrange payment for merchandise, provide follow-up on customer service issues, schedule deliveries, respond to post-delivery and service surveys, and address other customer questions or concerns.
Responsibilities
- Assist design consultants with order entry, cash management, and financing applications.
- Assist ordering parts for customers such as arm caps, table legs, and hardware.
- Direct administrative functions, including management and maintenance of:
- Petty cash reconciliation, reimbursement, and balancing of the cash drawer.
- Sales order entry auditing using the daily transaction report.
- Work directly with customers to understand, troubleshoot, and resolve post-purchase service concerns.
- Schedule customer deliveries, service calls, and conduct customer satisfaction surveys.
- Process service orders and maintain communication with customers on service status.
- Receive purchase orders for parts or store pick-ups.
- Audit and approve daily business folders, ensuring cash balancing and all necessary supporting documentation is sent to the Retail Accounting Team, including deposits and payments, in conjunction with the store manager.
- Manage operational processes and practices, including store expense control, warehouse procedures, inventory accuracy, and building maintenance.
- Establish relationships and open communication with human resources, distribution centers, visual team, corporate customer care, and accounting.
- Perform other operational duties as assigned and maintain satisfactory time and attendance.
- Collaborate with the store manager, regional visual, and warehouse operations to assist with floor moves and ensure adherence to the floor set guide and visual standards.
- Maintain awareness of merchandising and marketing for new merchandise tagging and tagging updates.
- Occasionally lift and/or pull up to 25 pounds, bend, or reach overhead.
Requirements
- Retail experience is a plus but not required.
- Conflict and problem resolution skills.
- Organizational and time management skills.

- Valid driver’s license and a maintained clear and safe driving record.
- Ability to work as a team with an enthusiastic attitude.
- Effective communication with customers, co-workers, and management.
- Ability to read, understand, and write the English language.
- Proficiency in Windows-based software, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to navigate and utilize applicable Bassett systems.
