Store Operations Administrator – hourly, entry-level role.
About the role
Assist the manager in daily operations of a Bassett Home Furnishings retail location to meet financial objectives, customer-experience goals, and daily tasks. Work directly with customers to arrange payments, resolve service issues, schedule deliveries, and respond to surveys. Ensure adherence to Bassett standards in customer relations, administrative functions, operational processes, and systems.
Responsibilities
- Assist design consultants with order entry, cash management, and financing applications.
- Order parts for customers (e.g., arm caps, table legs, hardware).
- Manage administrative functions: petty-cash reconciliation, cash-drawer balancing, sales-order auditing, and daily business-folder approval with supporting documentation for Retail Accounting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve post-purchase service concerns; schedule deliveries, service calls, and customer-satisfaction surveys.
- Process service orders and maintain communication with customers on service status.
- Receive purchase orders for parts or store pick-ups.
- Oversee operational processes: store expense control, warehouse procedures, inventory accuracy, and building maintenance.
- Establish relationships and communicate with human resources, distribution centers, visual team, corporate customer care, accounting, and other departments.
- Collaborate with store manager, regional visual, and warehouse teams on floor moves and adherence to floor-set guide and visual standards.
- Maintain awareness of merchandising and marketing for new merchandise tagging and updates.
- Perform other operational duties as assigned; maintain satisfactory time and attendance.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and a maintained clear, safe driving record.
- Occasionally lift and/or pull up to 25 pounds; occasionally bend or reach overhead.
- Read, understand, and write English.
- Utilize Windows-based software (Word, Excel) and Bassett systems.
