About the role

Under general supervision, manage the Non-Food Department and the total store when designated as the Manager on duty. Ensure efficient and effective inventory management, appealing and profitable merchandise presentation and quality customer service. Ensure a safe working environment and provide protection for company assets according to required procedures. Provides support to other managers as requested.

Responsibilities

• Authorize and sign for refunds and overrides; count register; ensure money is deposited in the bank.
• Maintain financial integrity through strict cash accountability, key control, and adherence to company security and cash control procedures.
• Manage the store in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager.
• Assist Store and Assistant Managers in providing employee training.
• Train assigned associates in proper stocking, presentation standards, and hourly recovery standards for the Non‑Food department.
• Assist with scheduling coverage and assess work completion, following up on associate performance.
• Record Non‑Food markdowns, analyze causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Assist in sanitation standards and training using the Cleaning Schedule.
• Ensure execution of the store’s 7‑Day Workflow Plan (stocking standards and Find‑Fill‑Fix procedures).
• Use the handheld terminal (HHT) to investigate out‑of‑stocks and overstocks.
• Organize the receiving area and ensure merchandise is presented according to established practices, using fixtures, pricing, and signage correctly.
• Assist with POG execution, pricing integrity (price changes, Was/Now, TRP, Ad signs, Super Tuesday pricing and signing).
• Manage Tote Inventory processes.
