About the role
Reporting to the District Manager (DM), the Store Manager (SM) will lead the day-to-day operations of a single store to achieve all sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, inventory control, brand representation, and team member growth and development. Through personal selling, leadership, and coaching, the SM will champion a People First store environment that promotes diversity and inclusion, the development of lifetime relationships with customers, and the delivery of a best-in-class customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Communicate performance expectations and ensure all team members understand their impact on company success.
- Coach and develop store staff to instill understanding of brand image and ensure consistent representation in customer interactions and execution of store visuals and marketing.
- Support and communicate the strategic relevance of corporate initiatives and execute corporate plans to produce desired results.
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and honesty to earn respect from team members and management.
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience through training, outreach, and clear expectations.
- Empower team members to resolve customer issues and drive high-level customer service through follow-up and outreach.
- Attain sales projections and quotas by developing strategies to maximize sales potential.
- Identify operational successes and opportunities for improvement, addressing root causes of problems.
- Review and analyze reports to identify trends, opportunities, and available resources, developing plans to address issues.
- Keep management informed of competitors' marketing, merchandising, and payment programs, and advise on new or changing merchandise and service needs.
- Implement initiatives to change behaviors and produce results.
- Foster open communication and collaboration with other Signet Store Managers in the same mall or vicinity.
- Commit to the Company’s People First vision by selecting and developing talent to drive store growth.
- Provide compelling onboarding, coaching, and development in operations, sales techniques, customer service, product knowledge, inventory control, and visual merchandising.
- Set actionable goals and monitor progress against desired behaviors.
- Maintain open communication with team members and management, encouraging participation and idea sharing.
- Establish a positive, professional work atmosphere where team members feel valued and respected.
- Respond promptly and accurately to management directives, requests for merchandise transfers, inventories, and information.
- Maintain store neatness and cleanliness to represent the brand.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies and practices.
- Achieve outstanding sales performance and increase profit margins by controlling discounting, expenses, payroll, and repair departments.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
Schedule
- Work a schedule based on business needs, including opening and closing shifts, weekdays, and weekends.
- Aim for a five-day, 40-hour work week during non-peak hours, with increased hours during peak selling periods.
- Schedule should account for operating hours, sales requirements, customer traffic, store coverage, and time for coaching and development.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of college preferred.
- At least 3 years of retail sales experience, OR 2 years of retail sales experience plus a minimum of 1 year of retail management experience.
- Preference given to candidates with specialty retail or jewelry experience.
- Preference given to candidates that are Diamond Council of America (DCA) certified.

- Bilingual skills are a plus.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to communicate and comprehend others.
- Regularly stand, reach with hands and arms, and move between display cases to handle merchandise.
- Required to sit, stoop, bend, kneel, or crouch as needed.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Requires visual acuity to discern differences in gemstone quality, with or without a jeweler’s loupe.
- Standard workweek includes weekends, evenings, holidays, and extended hours.
- Travel to training sessions and business meetings, including air travel and overnight stays, may be required.
