About the role
The Store Manager oversees all aspects of store operations, influencing guest satisfaction and driving sales through exceptional customer service and strategic management.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a multiunit store, ensuring prompt and courteous guest service
- Support the shopping environment, promoting GameStop's guest benefits and fulfilling orders
- Hire, train, and retain high-performing associates, ensuring they understand company policies and procedures
- Schedule and supervise staff, maintaining optimal guest service and meeting sales and profit targets
- Perform administrative tasks such as inventory counts, reconciling transactions, and managing cash and change
- Lead the store team in achieving sales and profit goals, while adhering to safety and ethical standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of retail management experience
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred
- At least 3 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred
- Video game knowledge preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Genuine and individualized guest service skills
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, both in person and on the phone
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Leadership performance expectations, including attendance, personal appearance, safety, and workplace respect
- Basic mathematics and alphabetizing skills
- Ability to work alone, stand, move, bend, stoop, crouch, stretch, reach, and lift up to 30 lbs.
