About the role

The Store Manager oversees all aspects of store operations, influencing guest satisfaction and driving sales through exceptional customer service and strategic management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a multiunit store, ensuring prompt and courteous guest service
  • Support the shopping environment, promoting GameStop's guest benefits and fulfilling orders
  • Hire, train, and retain high-performing associates, ensuring they understand company policies and procedures
  • Schedule and supervise staff, maintaining optimal guest service and meeting sales and profit targets
  • Perform administrative tasks such as inventory counts, reconciling transactions, and managing cash and change
  • Lead the store team in achieving sales and profit goals, while adhering to safety and ethical standards

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of retail management experience
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred
  • At least 3 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred
  • Video game knowledge preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Genuine and individualized guest service skills
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, both in person and on the phone
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Leadership performance expectations, including attendance, personal appearance, safety, and workplace respect
  • Basic mathematics and alphabetizing skills
  • Ability to work alone, stand, move, bend, stoop, crouch, stretch, reach, and lift up to 30 lbs.
